After World War I Literature today, I presented my paper, “Michael Bay’s Transformers, the Global War on Terror, and the New Post-9/11 Science Fiction Narrative,” at the Kent State University, Association of Graduate English Students Research Symposium. This was a revised version of my paper that I presented at the 2008 International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts Conference.
The shindig was organized by Christa Teston, and it was held in the newly renovated graduate student lounge on the second floor of Statterfield Hall. Unfortunately, the venue filled to capacity, and some folks didn’t get to attend. However, I think the event was well executed, and the presentations were interesting to hear. The other presenters were Jill Hawkins, PhD Candidate in Literacy, Rhetoric, and Social Practice (LRSP), and Emily Dillon, PhD Student in LRSP. I can safely say that I represented the English literature enclave with “vlarsh,”kllawl,” and “brosh!”
Thanks to everyone for coming out, and giving me some good questions and comments!
