Alan Elms alerted the SFRA email list today about this story in the New York Times about Frederik Pohl being awarded an honorary high school diploma from Brooklyn Tech, the school he dropped out of at age 15. It’s great to see Mr. Pohl finally get his due.
Neither my Grandpa Ellis nor my Dad graduated high school, but they impressed upon me the necessity of earning a high school diploma and going further with my education.
