More Online Star Wars Properties Go Offline, Sony and Lucasarts Announce End of Life for Galaxies

Slashdot.org reports that Sony and Lucasarts announced the end of life for Star Wars Galaxies, the massively multiplayer online game set in the Star Wars universe. December 15, 2011 is the day for Galaxies and the accompanying collectible card game (aka trading card game). Many reports of the uneven execution of Galaxies kept me away from the game. Now, I wish that I had devoted some time to try it out for myself. Unfortunately, I don’t think that I have the spare time to try it out before its servers go silent. Who is Dynamic Subspace?

Dr. Jason W. Ellis shares his interdisciplinary research and pedagogy on DynamicSubspace.net. Its focus includes the exploration of science, technology, and cultural issues through science fiction and neuroscientific approaches. It includes vintage computing, LEGO, and other wonderful things, too.

He holds a Ph.D. in English from Kent State University, M.A. in Science Fiction Studies from the University of Liverpool, and B.S. in Science, Technology, and Culture from Georgia Tech.
